I was reminded of a couple things while viewing your work. Perhaps they might catch your interest.
A Gentleman's Duel: [link] This is a shortfilm that features a couple interesting designs halfway into it. You'll have to excuse the blatant fanservice and cheesy dialogue, of course, but it's a neat little find.
Gear Krieg: [link] This is a line of models that features an "alternate history" for WWII armor designs. Not quite steampunk, but close.
I'd seen Gentleman's Duel before, it's neat (Marquis di Manstrumpet LAWLS)
Thanks for the link to that miniatures line as well, there's some good ideas there.
